So Mazzy and I have parasites. I'm sure
Slea's Post may have you wondering about lake parasites. Well, here's a
flash video of what it is.
Other than that, Wisconsin was awesome. The kids, Mrs. Chimp, and I got on the road about 10:30 at night and got there about 4 in the morning. We napped for a while then got going on the water. My nephews were there already, so they were out on the waverunner.
I took Mazzy and Roto out for a ride, but they weren't too crazy about it. Roto loved the boats though. He wouldn't get off them, parked or not. Mazzy was in the water as much as possible. She swan nearly every day.
The second day, I took my nephew Charles out fishing. I'd guess that we caught about 50 fish altogether, and kept a half dozen really nice ones. I fileted them on the dock the next day. Mazzy had to watch every last gory detail of it. She said that she wanted to tell the "Blood Club" about the dead fish. I made sure to do it really nasty, by first severing the spine, then cutting off the head. The mouth continued to open for a few minutes after death, and she got freaked out by it each time. But she stuck around for the whole deal, I even showed her the guts from one of the
fish.
Slea and Chimp made it up later that week and we all had a good time. Lots of beer and wine was consumed, lots of food was killed, grilled, and eaten. We went to the parade on the 4th, snowshoe baseball later, and we headed home early for the fireworks. Ironically, having lots of drunk adults and 3 teenage boys only led to 2 fireworks. inuries. Both me and my sister burned our right thumb while trying to light a sparkler. Stay away from the
purple sparklers.
Now I'm back to work and it's been pretty much 12 hour days every day. Kind of sucks after having two really nice vacations in a month. The money is needed though. It kind of cuts in to my ambulance time, but it's also kind of nice having a little break from there too. One of our full time EMTs is back to work after having surgery, and she wasn't scheduled this month. So she took up my hours for this week and maybe next, it made it easier to give them up that way.
And finally, on a side note,
Rick started playing fetch today.
